And i have been doing a lot of reading too...lol....just love to read....whatever i get my hands on...lol...

Thursday i started reading another book....The Visitation by Frank Peretti.....i got it for 25 cents

at the bargen store....when i bought it i thought it was about outer space,,,,but its not...

Its a Christian fiction....

It gets interesting right off...and i am on chapter 6....lol....hate to put it down...lol...

I have done a little more decorating.....I love this handmade bow that my stepson made and gave to me.This lovely dreamcatcher was sent to me last year by my dear friend Pamela..(Queeny).

Sewing Day

Yesterday i got in the mood to sew....why...i dont know...lol....so i went to WalMart and bought some yellow and white checked fabby....and made curtins for the kitchen....Then i decided that while i was in the sewing mood...i might as well make curtins for the living room as well...lol...I picked this pretty rose pattern fabby for the living room.
I think my new curtins turned out really nice....and look nice too...lol.
The next time i get in the sewing mood i need to make curtins for the bedroom....

First off...i have started a new stitching project...Magic Dragon by

Joan Elliott...I am stitching it on 14 count Gold Sparkle fabbie. I started it on Dec 21,2011....a thursday....i havent gotten much stitched yet,but off to a good start.

I have also been doing a lot of reading...i have read The Scarecrow,Echo Park, and The Last

Coyote by Michael Connelly.

Then i read Hour Game by David Baldacci.

Then The Christmas Thief by Mary Higgins Clark.

Next i read The Christmas Wife by Helen Norris....not a very good read.

Sharon let me borrow 2 of her books to read...Achesapeake Shores Christmas by Sherryl

Woods. And Driftwood Cottage by Sherryl Woods.

I have returned Sharon's books back to her...and gave her the other books of mine that i read.

And told her she can pass them around.

We had a green Christmas...and that was fine with me...

I have been walking everyday weather permitting....sometimes i get 1 mile in...other times

almost a mile walked.

I really enjoy living in town,where i can walk to the store,etc..about the only time i drive is on

fridays....

I am still on page 6 of my Cheetah SAL...i need to get it finished....lol

Update on me

Hello all my friends.Its been awhile that i updated my blog.The 2 months that we stayed with Tom and Sharon was great.Sharon got me into eating better.And back into walking.

I am now in our own place again.woohoo.Its on the 2nd floor..so i still have stairs to climb like at Sharon's.And i still eat better,woohoo,,lol...I still have my protein drinks for breakfast and i still eat salads and fresh fruits.

Now that i live in town,i walk almost everywhere. The other day i walked my first mile...wooohoooo...I love it.

I used to weight 235 pounds...i am now 212...woohoo.

I used to wear size large slacks...not anymore.

I finally had to get new slacks,a size medium...as large is just to baggy ....lol.

With shopping at the thrift store and clearance rack at Kmart,i was able to get a few new medium slacks.And

ALL of my "fat" slacks are now gone...lol.

Also a lot of the gals in the ESC group have shared a list of their favorite reads....so i logged into my local library and now i can check out the books on my laptop and read the ebooks...Thanks gals for all the help and support...

Below are pics of my new home at moveing in time...We had a little scare

when we were moveing in.Joe was carrying up the double decker bird cage. Half way up the steps the bottom of the bottom cage fell off and the bird went with it.

I ran down the steps as fast as i could..and the bird came right to me...

thank goodness there was no cats or dogs around..i got my bird and took her into the house.

A large piece broke off the front of the bottom of the cage...so i had to glue

it back together....and thank goodness the bird did not get hurt..

Yesterday i walked to Weis super market and then another block to the welfare office....And this morning i walked to the welfare office again.

For they are not far from where i live...and i am keeping on the diet that Sharon and i started together.I am also keeping a log of the food i eat everyday too.

I am really proud of myself...lol

This is a pic of my hot water heater...i have been complaining for over a year about it.And all i got was "I dont see no leak,its not leaking now". So i put a lid under it a few months ago...and told them again....its warm water comeing out of this thing. Finally they fixed it this past sunday for the 2nd time in 2 weeks....

This is "Hoot the Owl"...it was a great fun stitch.I didnt you black to stitch it...i use dmc 891-dk carnation...i this its really cute. I used a piece of 14 count aida that i hand dyed....want to make a few more in different colors and see how they sell at the Farmers Market.As i have never sold any cross stitch items....so am wondering how they will sell.

I went to the farmers market this morning.The weatherman said it was to be a DRY morning....well he lied...About 9:30 i decided to pack up.Got everything in the van except for my tables and chair...

Then it came....big fat rain drops....then it just poured. I was soaked by the time i got the tables and chair in the van...and boy was i cold,as the temp was only in the 60s...I turned the heat on in the van on the drive home.Oh and i made $5.75 in sales.....lol

Cantalope and tomato anyone???

I got these cantalopes and tomatoes today at am Amish stand...The cantalope i cleaned and cut in chunks.It filled a 5 quart bucket,plus i had a plate full too.

The tomatoes are so big that one slice covers a slice of bread...mmmmm....good eaten.

Out door sitting area

This morning i got inventive and made my own outdoor sitting area..i have been useing the landladies out door sitting areas...but decided i wanted my own area...the chairs and table was given to me...and i covered them with what fabric i had on hand...i know the colors dont go together very well....but hey,gotta use what i have...i love the peacock feathers but switched them out for the little house...as it wont blow away in the wind.And i tied the ends of the tablecloth down too. I had my breakfast and coffee there this morning.It was great.

Update on life

Well last week we had our interview with houseing...2 people i put down as referances called and said they filled out the paperwork they got and sent it back in...woohoo...lol

I have been busy working on my Cheetah SAl,and packed up some stuff....and i rewent threw 2 boxes i already went threw and got rid of another box of junk...lol...

I only have 2 more boxes to go threw and i will be done...woohoo....might as well get some packing done,that way i wont have it all to do when moveing time comes.

The lady at houseing last week gave us lots of info...like i can have a washer,but no dryer or dishwasher....what no dishwasher??? then that means i cant move in as i am the dishwasher.....lolol.....sorry a little humor there...

I dont have a dishwasher,but i will miss my dryer...have to hang cloths out on the line...if we get in a high rise i wont have a washer or dryer as they are in a laundry room in the building.

Then there will be a $5.00 charge a month for my birds...cant get rid of my 2 feathered babies...

The total i will have to pay each month is $550.00...that includes everything except cable,internet,and house phone if i want one.

It will be great NOT haveing to worry about the light bill...i am waiting to get a 10 day shut off notice from the light company. I have decided to let them shut it off...i cant afford the bill...and then we will see what all is on my electric besides my 4 rooms.

Finally on July 26,2011,the building owner sent someone out to fix the leak on my hot water heater....its been leaking over a year. As you can see from the pic it was leaking pretty bad..

Someone told me that i could sue the building owner for this leak...i will have to check into it....if nothing else just enough to get back some of the money i paid into the light company...in 2010, i paid in $3000.00 plus to the light company....thats way to much for only 4 rooms...and 2 people...

Oh in houseing there will be a $100.00 deposit too... thats not bad,and if we move in during a month,the rent for that month will be prorated...so we will only pay for the days left in that month...

The lady told us there is up to a 7 month waiting list...but it could me a lot less time...and not very many people want a 1 bedroom....so she said we should be at the top of the list...woohoo...

So i am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that we get approved and get moved in before winter...

Monday of last week i had a mamogram done....only 1 take this year,not 4 like last year...friday i get a call that i need to have an ultrasound done.

So today i went...well they did another mamogram on the right side...then i waited....then they did the ultrasound on right side.

I have a sist in my right breast...they said it does NOT look like it is cancer....doc hadnt made up is mind if he want to do a biop or wait 6 months and do another round of xrays...

I went to the post office this morning to check my mail....and i had a big box from Cindy....
I went home and opened up the box....and there was all kinds of snowman goodies inside.
There was a set of 3 towels with Mr and Mrs Snowman on them...2 drinking glasses,2 plates..
sorry to say one of the plates was broken...and a big mug...that i am sorry to say was also broken
in lots of little peices..also a Christmas card,a pic of Cindy,and 2 gingerbread cookies in pretty

Pretty Gift

Last night hubby went to visit his mom. He came home with a big box.Half was wrapped in green wrapping paper,and the other half was wrapped in yellow wrapping paper...lol

So i unwrapped the box,and cut the tape that was sealing the box. Inside was some more green and yellow wrapping paper...lolol.

Finally i got to what was inside. It was this LOVELY QUILT. She made it for me.

OMG.....I was sooooo surprised.....i just love it.

What she did was take this lovely wild birds blanket and added batting and backing to make this lovely quilt.

I will treasure it always..

Yesterday in my RAK from Pamela, she included a boot scissors holder. Thats why she lost her scissors....she sent me her holder. Sure hope you find the scissors my dear friend.

Anyway, i used her holder to make myself one for my new Blue Stork scissors she sent me.

So this is a pic of the boot scissors holder that i made for myself. This is the first pair of "Shaped" scissors that i have. Thank you sooo much Pamela...I just love them. I think my Boot scissors holder turned out great...lol...

I was looking around the house today to find something to prop up my feet on. As i dont have a recliner or a foot stool. I found this wooden snowman. I took off the wire. Got 2 peices of wood from the landlady for legs. And i made my own foot stool. I have trouble with my feet and ankles swelling. I take a fluid pill, but that dont help much. I really love my new foot stool...lol... and it works great...lol

Well, i got my ole sewing machine out this week and gave it a work out...lol...I sewed and then quilted these 4 pics. Plus i sewed 10 plastic bag holders.All i need to do is buy some elastic tomorrow and finish the bag holders. These are for my craft show on Saturday.

I have joined a new group and a new SAL.The checkers sal.I started stitching it the other day after i received the chart. I am stitching on 14 count white aida. And useing dark royal blue for the boarder, and dmc 3845 for the snowflakes, and dmc 995 for the solid blocks. I love it another board game...woohoo.

Bloodwork

Well i have had bloodwork done 4 times in the past month. Doc said my "liver numbers" was high. Each time i had bloodwork the results was high numbers.
Until today.The results came back today,and the doc said that my "numbers" was almost back down to normal...WooooHoooo...lol
So now i dont need any more bloodwork till March.
Dont know what made the numbers high.I am just happy that they are down again.

Stitching Weekend

Well since the weather was "frightfull" this weekend. I decided to do a little "bright" stitching. These 3 designs are from Oak Haven Designs.

First i stitched Snowflake 6,on 14 count pale blue aida.I stitched it with Precious Metal Effects E301.

Second i stitched Snowflake 7, on 14 count pale blue aida. I stitched it with Jewel Effects E3837.

Last i stitched Joy 2, stitched on 14 count pale blue aida.Stitched with Jewel Effects E699. Stitched the word joy with a scrap peice of bright red floss.

I like these pretty snowflakes better than the ones that where falling outside this weekend.
